Last updated 2 November 2026

Anmoku Laboratories Pty Ltd (ABN 28 696 938 100) (“Anmoku”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, hold and disclose personal information through this website, and how you can access or correct it or make a complaint. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What this policy covers

This policy applies only to the website at anmokulabs.com and to emails you send us through it. It does not cover our apps, which have their own privacy policies, such as the In 16 Bars privacy policy.

The short version

What personal information we collect

When you visit this website. Our web host automatically records technical information about each request, which may include your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and device type. We use this only to operate, secure and troubleshoot the site.

When you contact us. If you email us, we collect your name, email address and anything you choose to include in your message.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (such as health, racial or ethnic origin, or political opinions). Please do not send it to us unless we have asked for it.

You can deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym where that is lawful and practicable, for example when making a general enquiry.

How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you email us, and automatically through our hosting provider when you visit the site. If we receive personal information we did not ask for and do not need, we will destroy or de-identify it where it is lawful and reasonable to do so.

Why we collect, hold, use and disclose it

We use and disclose personal information only for the purpose we collected it, a related purpose you would reasonably expect, or otherwise as permitted or required by law.

Who we disclose it to

We may disclose personal information to service providers who help us run this website and our email, namely our website host and email provider. These providers may only use it to provide services to us. We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law, for example to a government authority or a court.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia. This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., which may process request logs in the United States and other countries where it operates. Our email is provided by Proton AG, which stores data in Switzerland and other European locations. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the APPs.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not set cookies, does not use analytics or advertising tools, and does not load any third-party scripts, fonts or images. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; those sites have their own privacy practices.

Automated decisions

This website does not use your personal information to make automated decisions about you.

How we hold and protect it

We hold personal information electronically with reputable providers and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include access controls, encryption in transit, and limiting access to people who need it. When we no longer need personal information for any lawful purpose, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Access and correction

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@anmokulabs.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days, and will not charge you for making a request. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing and how to complain, unless it would be unreasonable to do so.

Complaints

If you think we have breached the APPs or mishandled your personal information, please email info@anmokulabs.com with details. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in how we handle personal information or in the law. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
